Marakura Yacht Club was founded in 1972, and is located directly on the shores of lake Te Anau.
A family based club with a strong youth section. With kids in a variety of classes from Optis and P's to Starlings and Lasers. There is also a well supported sector of Trailer sailors within the club.
Lake Te Anau with a shoreline of over 500km making it the second largest lake in New Zealand, offers up a huge area for overnight cruising with plenty of safe anchorages.
