1.1The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012.
1.2The Yachting New Zealand Safety Regulations Part 1 shall apply.
1.3For protests where only a Rule of Part 2, or Rule 31 is alleged to have been broken, an arbitration hearing will be offered prior to any formal hearing.
2ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1The regatta is open to all boats of the dinghy class(es).
2.2Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it, together with the required fee, to Marakura Yacht Club P.O. Box 91, Te Anau by 31 Dec.
2.3Late entries will be accepted up until the first race.
2.4To be eligible to compete in this event each competitor shall be a financial member of a club recognized by the competitor’s national authority.
2.5– Five or more boats are required to form a class, otherwise boats will race in open divisions and handicap ratings applied.

4SCHEDULE
4.1Registration: Saturday 7th January 2012, from 9am to start of first race.

5SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1The sailing instructions will be available after 9am on Saturday 7th January 2012 at Marakura Yacht Club.
6RACING AREA
6.1 On Lake Te Anau in the area adjacent to Marakura Yacht Club.
7THE COURSES
7.1The courses to be sailed will be as follows: Trapezoid or others as set by the race officer.
8SCORING
8.1The Low Point scoring system of Appendix A will apply.
8.2 No score will be excluded until 5 races have been completed and a boat’s worst score will be excluded when 6 or more races have been completed.
9RADIO COMMUNICATION
9.1Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
10PRIZES
10.1 Prize giving will be held as soon as possible after last race Sunday afternoon.
11DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
11.1Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The Organizing Authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
